Governance model of the Sikhs will be of Governance by being rational, pragmatic, consistent, approachable, transparent, soft touch, inclusive, tolerant, accomodating, conservative, globalized, minimally involved, with freedom of speech and human rights, and by adopting the best in the world by being coachable.
Rational: Sikh Sovereign Nation will be non-Democratic. Hence there is no need for governors to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the population by providing them with bread and circus. Sikh political model is of
epistocracy - governance by meritocratic experts. The governors will be trained experts with several years experience in their field who can rationally analyze the current situation and professionally guide the Nation. It will be in contrast to the arbitrary knee jerk reactions which is the hallmark of todays un-meritocratic mis-educated and mis-informed bureaucrats serving their popularity hungry political masters.
Pragmatic: Governance will be pragmatic rather than ideologically driven. Governors will do what is rational, doable, achievable, and practical, within the boundaries of what is acceptable to the values, history and culture of the people. Sikh Sovereign Nation will be non-Democratic. Hence there is no need for politicians to make big, impractical, and highly ambitious promises and then use threat of sedition if anyone questions their rhetoric.
Consistent: Governance should be predictable. This allows people, investors, and businesses to make long term plans. Consistency and predictability attracts investors and prevents capital flight. It also reduces public anxiety. This is in contrast to governance in most countries which makes the public wonder 'What crazy thing are they going to do next'.
Approachable: Decision makers will be in frequent and direct contact with the people, investors and businessmen. This ensures a feedback loop. It allows people, investors and businessmen to ask questions and seek clarifications. This is contrast to governors today that dont like to take questions, or only answer scripted soft questions. Governors today are not competent. They are in power because of their extreme narcissim or contacts. Governors in Sikh Nation will be professionally trained experts in their field with years of experience. They will be able to rationally explain their decisons, and not get offended or feel challenged by questions due to their strong foundation.
Reversible: It will be accepted to reverse decisions without penalizing the decison makers. Governments have become risk-averse in most countries. There is also minimal transparency and minimal approachability from public. Governors are not competent and not confident. They are offended and challenged easily. They perceive any negative feedback as a challenge to their position. These factors make reversing a decision almost impossible in current systems. Sikh governance model will have professionally trained meritocratic experts. They will not perceive negative feedback as a challenge and will be encouraged to reverse decisions instead of justifying bad decisons to protect their position.
Transparent: Almost all data held by Sikh Nation will be anonymized open data. This ensures members of the public can also analyze the data. Reliance on data also avoids arbitrary decisions based on subconscious bias, guess work, or vested interest. Decision makers will have to justify their decisions and show open data to support those decisions. This ensures members of the public can independently verify. This is in contrast to decisions today which are made with very little transparency, and leaves it to social media experts trying to make sense.
Light and soft touch: Governance will be light and soft touch with very little intrusion into people's life. Sikh Governance will avoid getting involved in everything. This is contrast to governments today which pass intrusive and heavy handed legislation controlling things they have no business being in.
Tolerant and accomodating: There are always people, entities and scenarios which will be adversely impacted by decisions. Sikh governance will provide work arounds, exceptions, and accomodations when people cannot follow the rules.
Conservative: Sikhs are naturally conservative with traditional lifestyle and mindset. Governance has to respect people's mindset and culture, while at the same time allow accomodations for people that have more liberal views.
Globalized: Sikhs support globalization even in this era of de-globalization. Sikh Nation will be a relatively small nation. It needs to interact and trade with other nations as it wont be self-sufficient in everything it needs. It will have to import what it needs, and it will export what it can. Sikh Nation and Governance needs to be globalized to share best ideas, people, products and services.
Minimally involved: Governance will be minimal rather than intrusive. Sikh model of governance will not do moral policing or tell people how to live. This will be the task of community and parents.
Freedom of speech and human rights: With absolute freedom of speech, and genuine and long term consistent support of human rights.
Adopting the best in the world by being coachable: Sikh Governors will know that almost all the governance issues will have already been dealt with in other countries and throguh histroy. They will not be in illusion of having unique circumstances. Sikh governors will be encouraged to look inwards as well as outwards. Learn from our history, and also other peoples experiences. Governors will be encouraged to adopt life long learning, and be coachable so they can adopt best in the world, rahter than being ideologically driven neanderthals.
Meritocratic: Sikh model of governance will be a meritocratic system where only those who demonstrate the above qualities will be promoted. They will be evaluated by their peers, and not by politicians.
Secular: Like the Sikh Kingdom of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, it will be based on Sikhs values but with secular meritocratic administration.
